No but seriously man, I have definitely had kiwi before, more than once. I'll try it again tho.

My impression is I like it alright but it doesn't jump right out and grab me. Also, I feel like there is something weird going on. Can't remember exactly what. Something with the texture or maybe seeds or something?

Or maybe I've got my wires crossed and I'm thinking of something else.

Anyway I'll try it again.
 
The skin is annoying, with the fur. Annoying core too.

Worth it though.
 
Shouldn't be. You can go into a store hop on a register and type in PLU#4060 if you want to see their specific price, usually 3 for a dollar or so.

Pineapples and coconuts. Only fruits you can bring back to the mainland from HI. However, very few of the world's pineapples are grown in HI.
 
We had a Saint Patrick's day thing at work yesterday. We all wore green. Had a chili cook-off for some reason.

Point being ---> kiwi. Someone made a big bowl of kiwi-lime punch. It was amazing. It had a big thing of frozen kiwis floating in the middle. A kiwi ice floe. And it has a little depression in the middle so the punch ladle could rest in there.

Anyway it was very green - so it fit the occasion - and it had not just kiwi juice but chunks of kiwi - so it fit this discussion - and it was delicious. I wish I had taken a pic.

It was as much a thing to see as taste. Floating frozen kiwi island.
 
Not sure I like the thought of eating a mottled pluot. Mottled makes me think of feet.
 
Just bought my first pineapple.

Buying one is becoming a Saturday tradition for me. Did that today. My chopping technique gets better every time.

Chop it up - set aside some portions for snacks at work during the week. Noice.

Getting very heavily into the grilled pineapple w/brown sugar and cinnamon - with dinner and also with ice cream for a snack. Had both those today.

Welp I cut it up pretty sloppy and almost consumed the entire thing.

Kinda mindboggling about how truly tasty those things are.

I bet the dude that discovered it was like:

"Damn, this fokken thing tastes better than those other shrubs and that moss shit I've been eating".
 
A few other FACTS:

That thing cost 2.99 usd.

Much better than any canned garbage. That syrup sucks.

I foresee more whole pineapples in my future.
 
I also got Almond Butter.

Might get crazy and combine the two.
 
Just put a chunk of pineapple into a tumbler of straight vodka.

Tastes mostly vodka-y.
