Why not send Ian Anderson out there for the 6th inning and at the first sign of trouble (a walk or a hit) then go get him?Third time through is a meaningfull jump in BAA, no? Stats don't care if a guy is "going good" or if it's a "clutch" spot.
I agree it's dumb and reduction of the game to a model or a flow chart of mathematically driven decisions is hurting the watchability. But the managers who go by thier gut over the stats ARE wrong... I dunno what to do about that.
Tronner are you for/against illegal defense in baseball (re: the shift)?
Agree 1000%. Travesty.Doesn't make much sense to me that Bonds and Clemens run out of eligibility but Ortiz makes it. He's almost as much of a jucier as them (he failed the survey test) and less of a shoe in (though obviously a shoe in) on stats. I get it, let's punish them.. but to deny them entry all together through the normal process and to let Ortiz in... major loss of credibility in my book.
Seems like these negotiations are warmer than negotiations in the past but you gotta think we lose games and definitely gotta think we lose spring training.
I was thinking of buying spring training tickets to coincide with a potential horse race in Tampa but that's not gonna happen, right?
Being a baseball fan sucks.
Looks like Trevor Bauer’s conviction in the court of public opinion didn’t hold up well in the eyes of the actual judicial system.
Touché, I guess.Good say. Just like OJ.
