Maybe when it doesn't feel relative anymore, when a generation of fans forgets the 8 inning WS start even exists it will not feel so wrong?

Will there be any fans left then?

Third time through is a meaningfull jump in BAA, no? Stats don't care if a guy is "going good" or if it's a "clutch" spot.

I agree it's dumb and reduction of the game to a model or a flow chart of mathematically driven decisions is hurting the watchability. But the managers who go by thier gut over the stats ARE wrong... I dunno what to do about that.

Tronner are you for/against illegal defense in baseball (re: the shift)?
Why not send Ian Anderson out there for the 6th inning and at the first sign of trouble (a walk or a hit) then go get him?

Agree 100% on 3rd time through the lineup, however.

When you go to the bullpen in the 6th inning, you only need ONE out of four relievers to have a bad day.

I think the shift needs to be limited:

SS can’t play on the other side of 2B. Sane goes for 2B playing on SS side of bag.

Less runs is not what MLB needs to attract new fans. We are on the same page, Boney.

Ooh the Braves are up 3-1  I should probably watch at least a bit of this

common you fucking idiots, don't blow 4 run lead right away

This isn’t some random guy posting from his mothers basement

#smashville #boomtown

Invest in this town, boys.

I had a vision when I came here.

The prophecy has spoken.

Doesn't make much sense to me that Bonds and Clemens run out of eligibility but Ortiz makes it. He's almost as much of a jucier as them (he failed the survey test) and less of a shoe in (though obviously a shoe in) on stats. I get it, let's punish them.. but to deny them entry all together through the normal process and to let Ortiz in... major loss of credibility in my book.

Agree 1000%. Travesty.

Seems like these negotiations are warmer than negotiations in the past but you gotta think we lose games and definitely gotta think we lose spring training.

I was thinking of buying spring training tickets to coincide with a potential horse race in Tampa but that's not gonna happen, right?

Being a baseball fan sucks.

my guess is they’re more likely to lose regular season games than lose spring training..

yeah I don't see regular spring training happening. I'd bet quite a few players band together to do their own informal training/games

maybe as that happens you can research where it's happening and go check it out for free somewhere

Looks like Trevor Bauer’s conviction in the court of public opinion didn’t hold up well in the eyes of the actual judicial system.

Good say. Just like OJ.

Touché, I guess.

Prior to the allegations, Bauer was about my least favorite player. He’s a loud mouth and he acts like a 14 year old on the mound.

But the guy got completely DRAGGED on Twitter before due process.

This didn’t go to trial. OJ did. The state attorneys office didn’t find enough evidence to file charges.

He likes it rough.

Caligirl, you in?
