Okay so about 10% of the season has been played so some observations. So could there be a NYC subway WS this season? Let's hope not and if only one in it better not be the Mets for me!
The top 3 in the NL West look strong again! The Orioles, Tigers, and Rangers again look like AL bottom feeders. All have huge -run differentials so they are what they are. What is there to root for in the Motor city these days.
And the Reds a 3-19 start. David Bell must be odds on fav to be 1st manager fired and only contract through 2023 so even cheap Reds probably won't hesitate saying adios.
The White Sox and Braves have been a little disappointing so far. And my Phillies so-so so far have played MLB high 20 games against >.500 record opponents while Yankees sit at low of 4 games. It's still very early but +/- run diff. says though a fav to win AL East Blue Jays might not end as good as predicted?
And lastly, as a SJersey grown person the greatest ever to come out of the area, Mike Trout, has the Angels on top of the AL West. Not thinking it will hold up but one thing these days on top of my baseball rooting list is Trout getting to the postseason (hasn't been nearly enough) and playing extended baseball once there.
