I remember Gary shandling show. It was on that big fox line up with Tracy ullman and married with children etc.. ..a prelude to the good stuff. It had a strange charm I felt.

The Larry Sanders Show though ---> it's good but not as good as I was thinking. Maybe I'll eventually watch all 89 episodes - they're only like 23 minutes each - and it's pretty good - but it's not compelling like my recent start-to-finish rewatch of Arrested Development.

Okay time to give Birdman an all-important second viewing.

I guess I am supposed to say the whole thing. i.e. - with the pretentious second title. i.e. - Birdman (or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).

But no, just Birdman for me.

I'm curious as to my original rating.

6.8 out of 10

Yeah 6.8 is too high. More like 5.4.

While it's sometimes thoughtful and sometimes interesting to look at, it's really just a bunch of contrivances thrown together. Pieces don't fit.

It seems like it should be a metaphor with the guy who thinks/wishes he can move stuff with his mind and fly, but it falls apart. You got all the stuff about social media. You got the ridiculous theatre critic.

Artsy-fartsy. Pretentious. Reminded me of the Steely Dan song Show Biz Kids.

Show business kids making movies bout themselves
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else

I watch a lot of the Vice channel.

Anyone else watch the Vice channel?

I had to look up what it is. I haven't seen it but it sounds like something I would like.

A guy at work was telling me the other day about some show on Netflix which is a series of documentaries too. It sounded very interesting.

Damn there are a lot of TV shows these days.

I have seen 13 of those.

Meanwhile there have been 90 Best Picture Oscar winners. Of those I have seen: 90

So I guess that's the kind of movie fan I am.

I’ve seen 14 of the billionaire movies, about half because I’m a dad.

12

I haven’t seen Avengers either. Or Avatar.

who da fok IS watching that?

Lotsa people feel the need to be up-to-date on mainstream pop culture and will not watch any “old” (over 2-3 years old) or non-blockbuster movie.
