I don't know anything about Private Lessons..

A father hires a "tutor" (there's a French word for it but it escapes me) to usher the kid into manhood. Basically it was porn for the kid (me) who hadn't yet seen real porn.

Also I mentioned one of the golf movies as The Sun Also Rises but I was wrong, the title is Follow The Sun. It is the true story of Ben Hogan leading up to and just after his almost fatal car crash.

Thread lead me to walking Cami through SOA, Pilot Episode now, should be fun.

Ferris probably deserve to be there, really hard to make a list of only 20

Problem is you start putting these teen comedies in there and next thing you know you have 5 John Hughes movies

La Vida Abismal - The Abysmal Life, spain, again not a great production, fairly simple movie, but the theme and story here is that of a gambler and a true gambler's lifestyle. about a guy called el chino who goes around the timbas in Valencia still in the dictatorship years of Franco and gambles to live, not even professionally, a survivalist. the guy is a true character, impresses even the other gamblers, style, clothes, prostitute girlfriend, superstitions, everything. sympathizes with a young guy and decides to teach him, about life about gambling about women, and the story goes from there. i like it a lot.

La Mala Educacion - Bad Education, spain, another fantastic movie by Almodovar, it shows how crucial and simple some things are in a child's life, how thin things can be in the upbringing and development, between tender and care, and twisted derailment. about how it all boils down to a loving education and how to give people a chance. it's a simple but very deep movie.

Amores Perros - Love Is Dogs, mexico, three violent love stories are connected through a car crash, trauma and shock not worse than what's going on in their lives. raw and real. monkey if you like city of gods this one is right up there with that one.

Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos - Mrs Flor And Her Two Husbands, brazil, 1940s bahia the story about vadinho and flor. vadinho is a bohemian, parties, drinks, gambles, he has no education, it's a general no good, brings shame to her, her family. people wonder how, why she ended up with such person. vadinho has a good heart, he's fun, he's truly a happy person, he's real. come carnaval he stays up a couple days partying and dies. the people, family, priest, breath a sigh of relief. with time flor starts going out with the town pharmacist, he's respected, educated, hard worker, the town praises him. but he's no vadinho, he wears fukkin pajamas lol. she misses everything he was so much that he comes back, only she can see him. i once lost $1000 playing vadinho's favorite number in roulette fukkin vadinho. great movie.

Iris, korea, I posted about this not long ago, and it's not really a movie but it's a masterpiece in action drama. about north korea, spies, intelligence, assassination, politics and love mixed into that world. I'm not one much for action movies but this is awesome.

I only have two.....

1. There Will Be Blood
2. Enter the Void
