ha! was just gonna comment on it myself. I mean I enjoyed it. I liked the girls, especially Darlene. I saw the actress on some other shows and wasn't impressed, but as Darlene she's always been great. The later scene of her talking to her fruity son in the bedroom was well done, in classic Roseanne style. There's still some depth to the writing despite the overbearing pc/elections/one liners stuff. Roseanne herself looks like hardly changed at all in 25(?) years

John Goodman is merely fat now. Very impressive.

Was that show so political in the past?

They were trying VERY hard in the first episode to be edgy.

I suppose all the middle America trailer trash will eat it up.

Roseanne was one of the main sponsors at the NASCAR race I went to last week.

Not so obviously current events cleche, most tv writing these days seems to reach in that direction. But imo Roseanne always made a political commentary, simply by portraying family life and issues realistically.

To me, Roseanne's main thing was always painting an authentic picture of the, I guess you'd say, lower middle class. They were good at it before and, based on those 2 episodes, they have not lost that vision.

As for the political talk, I can relate to what they did there quite a bit. I am writing a novel - based in a current day, typical Canadian workplace. I would prefer to completely ignore the existence of the current American president - but I would feel inauthentic if I did that. People do make comments. Quite a few actually. It's part of the thing.

I think the same would be true of the Connor household - only moreso. If you want to be authentic, you have to go there, at least a little bit.

The adult son seems like a forced character move.

There is no reason that guy should attempt acting these days.

They should just kill him off and keep the black/mulado kid

I watched the movie The Disaster Artist. It's the story of the making of the movie The Room which, apparently, is a classic of the so-bad-it's-good "genre."

I have never been a big giver-of-a-crap about those. I had never even heard of The Room.

This movie though - meaning The Disaster Artist - was okay. It was watchable. So now I am torn if I need to watch The Room. I know so much about it now. I dunno.

Where is Bread when you need him?

I watched the Room recently. It was a struggle to finish.

I guess that’s the point though, eh.

I gotta admit: I miss Louis C.K. The show Louie was an all-timer. His stand-up was outstanding. Horace and Pete was completely fascinating.

I know he did some creepy crappy shit but I am ready to move on and have him get writing again.

I watched the pilot of Trust. on FX.

It starts off a bit slow but I was getting interested by the last quarter of the episode.

Based on a true story (John Paul Getty and his grandson). There are some big name actors and actresses in it.

I’ll definitely watch E2 but this could be really good or a train wreck.

Master of None(?) that's pretty decent. Just watched a few episodes, good dynamic to the show. I find the main actor appealing on some level and a bit atypical for a Hindu Indian character in Hollywood. ...come to think of it, we can use a show about the whimsical social life of an American Indian. how come that never happens?

A guy getting drunk and doing meth during his casino job in North Dakota?

I’d watch that.
