Nah man. No money to he made online - all bots and nits.

You hit the casino, you target donks and you play for straight cash, homie.

Just don't decide you're a douchebag for playing poker for a living and dump your profits into a work from home recruiting job that you're not good enough at, or you might find yourself out of the game for awhile.

Ding ding ding.
Why would anyone decide that? Granted there's a lot of poker playing douchebags, but I always figured it's because they're douchebags, not because they play poker :dunno:

Very true, very true man.

I had decided that I wanted to help people by getting in them jobs instead of hurting them in any way, including financially (by winning pots).

It was also after a vicious downswing so I think I was fooling myself some. I was pretty burnt out too. Stupid shit. It's not like you're stealing money from people, and they have the opportunity to win your money as well. That's twice now I've walked away to pursue the recruiting - not happening again.

You're certainly right about the douchebags/anglers and I don't miss them, but I cannot wait to get back to the grind. I'll keep my guard job since I like it and the people I work for, but I'm a very decent and very profitable low stakes nit.

That's just one of those things I'm not bad at and there's nothing wrong with it.

You’re fooling yourself some, Stevie. People don’t stop playing poker because they’re winning too much. They stop or hiatus because they’re “running bad” (losing a lot in the recent short term).

True, true.

I never went bust but I this last time I had a big downswing from about $9k to $5k (all starting from a telemarketing check which was around $400) and I was like that's a couple months of reserves, I can use it to turn recruiting into a career.

Wrong.

Also a big reason for the downswing was playing during the day, chasing high hand bonuses.

I don't make match up against daytime griders/high hand chasers because they're a lot like me.

A strength of mine is I can play all night and stay sharp against the donks and the drunks, so that's what I need to be doing, as my schedule allows.

The path is clear to finish this stupid book I'm writing anyway.

Well, relatively clear. I still have a full-time job. That has to be considered an impediment.

But 2-day weekends and a bit of extra time each evening feels like a major luxury at this point.

Seriously considering collecting my bonus in Feb and once the check clears just throwing down an ultimatum... 70% of my current target billables for 60% the pay, no discretionary bonus, Tue and thur work from home and no work fridays. Wifey got a promotion and shes been supportive of my dream of woefully underperforming to my potential.

Got a hundred dollar bonus today. We have a thing where if sales hit a certain number for the week, everyone gets the bonus. Then the target jumps another ~7%.

We've had years where we got it a couple or three times but looks like this will be the only time this year.

Not life-changing money but it's just another little something. Bosses walking around handing out crisp hunnies.

Not a bad thing.

It's not quite like writing in all caps but it's close.

Performance bonus has just landed in the bank account. Plus it's payday with an extra Friday and a bunch of overtime in there.

Working all night security at this nice clothing store last night and at like 2:30 am this drunk and pretry decent looking woman finds her way to stumble through the back door and fall on the floor. She's crying and saying ridiculous things, asks me if I'm going to shoot her, lol. Then wants the police. Then she doesn't. Then "let me in here", whatever that meant.

When she said to let her out and we were like the place closed five hours ago get the fuck out, that's possible trouble so they threw her right out.

The one guy told me when she got outside she suddenly was able to walk right off, no problem.

Total awesomeness.

Big boss man had a change of tune on my part time request. I suspect they're gonna grant my request, pay me like part time and expect that I be glued to my phone on my "off" days... cant beat the man.

In 2016 I was working at a job and I decided it might be worth looking into what else is out there. I found my current job.

Last year - 2019 - I made 2.35 times the money I made in 2015, my last full year at the previous job.

I think I did the right thing.

Guess who is guard management now?

Oh yeah, that's right. BAM.

Anyone needs protection, TEXT IT.

Couldn't have done it without you Rogie.
