Pretty weird how many e-bikes there are out there. God forbid ya gotta pedal the thing.

I’m back in the market for a mountain bike. I miss it too much and also missing the Vo2 max benefits.

Always been a Cannondale guy. Not interested in carbon fiber (I’m old school and the frames crack too much for my comfort level).

Early on I have my eye on a Cannondale Habit 3.

Unfortunately, there are very few used Large frames available in my area. I tried offer up.

I’m not opposed to to a new Habit 3.

I’m definitely going with 29” wheels this time instead of 27.5”.

There's a segment of cyclists, specifically middle-aged commuters, who see traditional pedalbikes as an outdated form of transport. I get where they're coming from but I don't like that. Full power eMTBs are cool though.

Nothing wrong with a good alloy frame. A carbon framed roadie is nice for absorbing road vibrations, but on a full squish MTB, the shocks are doing most of the work.

I have about 15 demo bikes at my disposal, including 5 alloy ones, and I spend zero time thinking about the frame material.

Boys, I'm not proud to say but I'm up to 210. Heaviest I've ever been. Haven't been able to run much in the last six months due to an issue with an adductor on left leg. Pain from groin all the way to the calf. Holidays helped heal a little but boy that Flor De Cana didnt help with the scale. Still in great shape and working out 3-4 days a week for the last 6 months but going to need to drop a few LBs to get closer to that 200 mark. Ran relatively pain free this morning but need to put in some serious work.

morning run

How tall are you, though? You seem pretty tall. 210 on a 6’-2” frame isn’t a train wreck.

I put on my usual 3 pounds of holiday fat to get me up to 200. Losing the holiday 3 pounds will be easy (it always is) but the tough part will be reaching my goal of 190.

I’m gonna have to bid farewell to dessert.
