Robyn, does this mean I'm about to get a job offer, or not necessarily?

I can just imagine it now.

Idiot-What exactly have you been doing for the past decade?

Me-Steam chasing and prop betting?

What about what my response would have to be?

Idiot: What have you been doing since 2004?

Me: Well...for a while there I was cooking meth, but that got too stressful so I started growing medical marijuana in California. For fun though, I post and chat on gambling forums while looking for the Holy Grail of tennis handicapping. Oh, and I love twinks. You got any 18-22 hot guys working here? If so, that'd make it a whole lot more enjoyable to work here. You guys don't mind flamboyantly gay people, do you?

:wah:

:clueless: I'm a lot more flamboyantly gay than you and I'm not even gay. Storytelling down Scholar.

Our whole meeting started off very poorly, and I never let my guard down around you. Not saying that I wasn't being myself, but I'm definitely very different in more comfortable surroundings. Perhaps flamboyant was a poor choice of words, though, I'll stick with 'openly' next time.

No call today, either.

Oh well. Strange stuff.

Hang in there Dave. Hopefully she calls you soon. And please do me a favor if you do get the job. Punch Vic the Brick in face for me. Thanks

Drop off a thank you letter, send an e-mail on why you are the best candidate for the job...

"Hi

Thank you for calling me! I'm just slammed as is the AM570 Marketing Director (Finals begin tomorrow!)...but we do wanna have you back as you and I discussed. Let me coordinate a good time with him and get back to you.

Thank you David!"

Guess the saga continues.

If you eventually get hired, I hope for your sake, this woman is not your direct Supervisor. Dave, make sure you receive a written job description this time around. I don't think most people know how many hoops employers have to jump through these days, even in an At-will state. I could write a book on this shit.

I still wish you the best of luck. Was this a voice message or an email from this woman?

Yea seriously pepsi is like the longest job hiring phase ive ever been through, got offered a contingent job offer last Friday and still may not start working for another week or 2. I had a phone interview on 5/4 mind you.

I have an interview in the morning. Words of advice Robs?

A company the size of PepsiCo can't afford to slip up in the EOE or any department. A contingent job offer is bizarre to me. I would never offer a job, even contingently pending drug and background screenings. Did they tell you why it was contingent?

Gina, you are a smart person, so I may offend you with this advice. Make sure that you print neatly and use proper grammar on your job application. Your resume should never be longer than two pages if you want to capture the attention of an employer.

One thing I told Bread that I wouldn't share with others, but I will with you guys....do not NOT NOT NOT ever use the same email address on your resume or when applying for a job that will link you to facebook/myspace/gamelive/etc. You wouldn't believe how many morons do that and how much I have learned about people from a simple FREE search. I have instantly ruled out prospective employees just because of this. Google speaks volumes.

Also, do not speak negatively about former employers, despite how the job ended.

Always show up 15-20 minutes early, just in case you have to complete an application and always treat the Receptionist with the utmost respect. Most people don't realize this, but the Receptionist/Secretary is one of the most important individuals of any organization. If you don't agree, you just don't "get it".

The interviews I have been most impressed with are those who bring a portfolio, even in lower level positions. Show me what you can do....show me a spreadsheet, database, etc. you have created that has simplified your past job experience. Don't be afraid to discuss your past accomplishments, but always know when to stop bragging.

And the most important tidbit...always know with whom you are interviewing. Do some research before showing up. I love it when people know about our company and seem genuinely interested in possibly working with and growing with us.

Does that help?

Just Drug, physical abilities test, and background. Passed background n physical abilities. Did drug test today which isn't a issue. Said they'd get results in 5-7 days and contact me with the next steps after that...
