Marinated in olive oil, sea salt and garlic powder. Very common.

I've honestly never heard of that. So you basically mix the olive oil, sea salt and garlic powder together in a bowl or whatever and throw the steak in? How long do you marinate it for? I would think that the olive oil would burn and smoke up, but I've never tried it so not sure.
 
I have been using ground coffee, pepper and garlic salt as a rub lately.

I'm a big fan of the combo.

Thanks Tron. Just a couple more questions. Are you just brushing on the oil on both sides or are you actually soaking it completely in oil in a container/freezer bag etc.?
 
I'm fairly anti-ketchup and consider it a PAWN condiment.

BUT it can be pleasant on a low quality steak.
