182 people have been killed by a Frightline er um I mean a Brightline train over the last 8 years making it the nations deadliest train line.

Only 13% of those killed were in cars.

I took the Brightline to Orlando for the first time over the July 4th weekend.

The “train in front of us” struck and killed a “trespasser” (what Brightline calls them) on the way to Orlando and on the way back.

It took 6 hours to go from Orlando to Aventura. That is typically around a 3 hour drive.

The most expensive zip code in the entire nation isn’t Beverly Hills or Billionaires Bunker in Miami.

It’s Fisher Island in Miami. The median home price is $12.45 million. The median square footage is a modest 3,842 feet.

The average resident on Fisher Island declares *checks notes* $3 million dollars in annual income. Our tax laws are wild.

On the BC Ferries, headed to Vancouver today. At the pay booth they now hand you a card now asking that you turn off your car alarm while on the ferry. There is about 3 vehicles with their alarms blasting, the world is fucked.

Last Tuesday I spoke with a guy I know down in Central America. Old guy, 75 years old, lives alone. I found out that he died on Wednesday. One of his kids drop by in the afternoon and found him sitting on a chair half dressed, apparently after taking a shower in the morning. Coroner said it was a heart attack. I spoke to him around 9pm so if he didn't talk with anyone else it means I was the last one he spoke with.

My town actively doesnt want us to take our trash to the curb (though we do have to put out recycling). They are supposed to pick it up from "somewhere in the rear of the property." Its really nice. However, we got a new crew sometime this summer and in order for them not to skip my house/trash I need to take it halfway down the driveway so its visible from the street.

Its annoying.
