Hi Bread,

That guy was the absolute worst. He was so bad I made the booking agents give us some money back. At least we had the Loshak rap that year?

I agree with MF, Stanhope was piss-down-your-leg funny.

Thanks Mr D...I can find out his name once my head clears up.

I remember his "jokes." At first nobody knew how to react. Then once he got 10 mins in with nary a chuckle, oh man.

Our table would just look at each other uncomfortably for every punchline and I had the biggest smile. It was the greatest bombing I'd seen since Libya I.


But yes...Loshalk stole that show. That was, hands down, the highlight of the weekend for me.
 
That comedian had one good joke about that guy who didn't like having mirrors on the ceiling above his bed cause he felt like he was being attacked by a naked skydiver. :biglaugh: the fact that it was sandwiched between horrible self-deprecating material made it even funnier.
 
While I remember the HG rap by Loshak, I don't recall that comic ..... sounds like it was a good thing..... Loshak did steal the show ....

potato i have met the great rickysteve on several occasions

it is a fukin real-deal experience

not a lot of words, no extraneous facial expressions

buries people like I have never seen

i dont mean buries morons, i mean buries all comers, upper tier guys

at that level guys don't "get" buried, they bury themselves in the presence of superiority

guy doesn't bury them with effort, just by being him

guy is a fukin jedi ninja of gambling

zero emotions, pure EV, inefficiencies almost undetectable

walk through a casino with him it is amazing

guy is looking at payout tables on machines as you walk, will also have a book full of freebie coupons in his hand he got from somewhere, will casually remark how unbelievably profitable bodog poker used to be, etc etc

fukin understated, but not stone-faced, smiles if you joke around

the vibe is very "managing director interacting with the lower employees at the company christmas party"

it is a fukin intense experience

is he way more intelligent than the rest of us? way more disciplined? way more rational? way more entrenched in reality? I don't know but he's way more something than most of the rest of us that's for damn sure

i highly recommend hanging out with him

discuss anything intelligent at your own risk

me i just joke around to protect myself, and then get serious once in a while, and brace myself for the burial

i feel awful about myself and exhilarated at the same time
