Guy came out and hydrojetted the line ($$) and it was clear past the roots identified by rooter type guy. Unfortunately then he got stopped at the main, probably collapsed pipe. So the first guy was kind of wrong - replacing the lateral pipe (from house to street) won't necessarily do shit. We gotta dig up the street and fix the connection. This is gonna be expensive...

How old is the property?

Probably around 1900. Don't know if the sewer pipe is clay or cast iron or what. One of the previous owners installed a PVC cleanout outside - so some work has been done on the line... just never know. It's shitty.
