Ding ding dingo!

About 30ft out (60ft total run to street). Replacing the pipe is the way to go, estimated at $8500. I'm tempted to try to cut through the roots and then use chemicals to hold them off but then the problem (a busted pipe with roots growing) still exists.
I would get quote from an excavating company ,the main cost of that job is the excavating which the plumber will probably job out and upcharge you. Then call a plumber to put in the pipe.

I took out my septic field after it failed last year and hooked up to city sewer.Cost was
12 K Canadian,6000 for the excavator and plumbing work (100 feet from property line to sewer hook )and another 6000 for the privilege to connect to the city sewer hook.Hopefully Boner can get it done around 5-6 K.

I have a tech from the trenchless pipe liner guys on Friday AM. Until then we have to space out and take quick showers. Seems to handle every but showers okay. I might just see if that guy will jet the roots clear and then use a root killer every 6mo. Spend 600 now to put off the big expense for a bit. I dunno.
My theory is to do as much as can now cause things aren’t getting any cheaper in the 51st State.Currently redoing my floors
