I would get quote from an excavating company ,the main cost of that job is the excavating which the plumber will probably job out and upcharge you. Then call a plumber to put in the pipe.Ding ding dingo!
About 30ft out (60ft total run to street). Replacing the pipe is the way to go, estimated at $8500. I'm tempted to try to cut through the roots and then use chemicals to hold them off but then the problem (a busted pipe with roots growing) still exists.
My theory is to do as much as can now cause things aren’t getting any cheaper in the 51st State.Currently redoing my floorsI have a tech from the trenchless pipe liner guys on Friday AM. Until then we have to space out and take quick showers. Seems to handle every but showers okay. I might just see if that guy will jet the roots clear and then use a root killer every 6mo. Spend 600 now to put off the big expense for a bit. I dunno.
He could go shirtless, get a tan and slay tonightIf he skipped his daily workouts and started digging,he will be done in no time!!
Guy came out and hydrojetted the line ($$) and it was clear past the roots identified by rooter type guy. Unfortunately then he got stopped at the main, probably collapsed pipe. So the first guy was kind of wrong - replacing the lateral pipe (from house to street) won't necessarily do shit. We gotta dig up the street and fix the connection. This is gonna be expensive...I have a tech from the trenchless pipe liner guys on Friday AM. Until then we have to space out and take quick showers. Seems to handle every but showers okay. In Canada you are responsible for the hook up to your property line, the city should be digging up the road and repairing the main, that’s what property taxes are for.Guy came out and hydrojetted the line ($$) and it was clear past the roots identified by rooter type guy.
