Wow. That looks awesome. How have I not heard of that? Usually a movie with Brad Pitt is promoted like mad.

I generally like Pitt movies. I don't think there are any that I truly dislike.

I'm pretty sure this movie wouldn't do well at the theater as it's more of an art film. Although he isn't in the film much, the movie follows Sean Penn's visual memories of his childhood and perhaps answers his own questions as to the existence of life.

I understand the new Transformers movie is 2.5 hours long. I haven't seen any of the Transformers movies and I won't be seeing this. Lots of people will though - no doubt about that. Many happy returns to one and all. Remember to pee before it starts.

Last week I thought it'd be a good idea to eat some shrooms and see Transformers in 3D. Despite getting there 10 minutes before the previews, we were stuck in the front row, so you are correct about lots of people seeing this. And let me say this: I cannot relate to these people. Things would happen that ranged from just plain unfunny to downright disturbing and the crowd would burst into unrestrained laughter. It was kinda surreal. I had to get out of there in less than an hour. Having big floating 3D things floating over my head was fun for awhile, though.

Has there been a review of Super 8 here, yet? I liked it quite a bit. Some early Spielberg magic feel to it while it works, and not too horrible when it doesn't work. And, the casting was perfect. Elle Fanning is incredible.

I talked about my impressions based on some reviews - and you are reinforcing that. While I like some Spielberg stuff like Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List, I am not a huge fan of his early crowd-pleasing stuff - which is what this is being compared to.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I am not the lowest common denominator!!

:mudcat:

I mean, early Spielberg is not completely horrible and, my horrible LOST experience notwithstanding, J.J. Abrams has some potential. I imagine I'll catch Super 8 on TV somewhere down the road.

OK then here we go.

Season of the Witch - You know how we do in the Bread household. We get our hands on every Nicolas Cage movie that we can, get all giddy like schoolgirls and let the magic happen. Unfortunately, Cage didn't really utilize his powers of overacting too much. Movie wasn't terrible. Whatever. Maybe I need to watch Ghost Rider again. Four Kato hats.

Sublime - Second viewing here. It really is pretty cheesy for the most part, but Robyn and I both love the underlying message (which I don't want to give any spoilers in case anyone checks it out) but the ending is a bit disturbing. Especially with the way my mind had been churning lately. Six prick kissers.

Just Go With It - First half was horrendous. Second half was just OK. Why can't Adam Sandler just make movies like Funny People all the time? Between this and Grown Ups, he's back on my

list. Gah. Three Herman foul balls.

The Tree of Life - I was really hoping for this movie to bore some sinister worm holes in my brain. Unfortunately, that was not accomplished. As Robyn mentioned, it is a very beautiful film to view. There is also a depiction of the beginning of life that is beyond breathtaking. But there was a direction that I wanted this movie to go, and it did not. I did enjoy certain aspects of it, but I went in bracing for much much more. Five LOLHaiti's.

Wild Things - Denise Richards' tits! Kevin Bacon's dick!! Six Expos caps. :guitar::propeller::depom:

Requiem - A German movie that does not involve sewing the mouths of young tourists onto the anus of a stranger. It did involve an exorcism or something though I think. Two Bay Bud Brewskies.

True Grit - Hey check me out - enjoying a Coen Brothers' project AND Jeff Bridges at the same time! What the H? No but seriously, I thought it was great. Very well done. Seven and a half Nathan's Hot Dogs.

O I kinda forgot one. But it was so horrendous, I'm not sure if that was accidental.

Hall Pass - As far as the raunchy sex comedies go, this one is one of the worst. The jokes are the worst. The "edgy" parts are embarrassing. Owen Wilson and that one guy from SNL are unbearable.

But there is a large semi-hard black penis in it, so that's pretty cool, right? Zero cankles!!!

So other than finding it visually beautiful Rubyn, what is your overall assessment of the film?

I really liked it and I'd like to see it again at a theater with better sound. The movie is about the the search for meaning of life (and death) which we experience through memories. There is no easy way to describe it. If you like fun, see the movie.

Limitless was a fun watch, I thought it ended poorly but it's worth 1 watch

Didn't make it through Just Go With It could not stand the little girl

Red is an silly but entertaining watch with a monster cast of veteran actors/actresses having a good time

Source code is a decent flick, hollywood brushes upon quantum physics if you will, not bad at all

I was surprised how bad this was

I expected bad

it was worser

Good call on the little girl in Just Go With It. Super annoying. Everything about 75% of that movie was unbearable. They did sneak in a bit of funny here and there, but yeah.

I have about 10 movies to write about still. Maybe later tonight. Took a two hour nap. I feel gooood Stevie.
