For some reason when I hear clever comedy in old films I seem surprised. Like, people didn't become funny until the 90's.

LOL, what? Why would 1 of every 10 movies have to be a 10? My guess is Muddy has rated a movie a 10 two or three times max. He has some pretty unforgiving ratings.

Well duh, but that's not how movies are rated.

Ahh. Ok. So, it's not a simple frequency bin and there are actually movies that are perfect and stand the test of time which would garner a 10. Thanks for clarifying.

Why would someone have to rate one of every ten movies a 10?

Not my favorite, but that's my guess.

I give it a 9.

But that's it for the 9's for awhile. I can only bust out that 9 10% of the time.

If we were talking about absolute 10's, my list would be null and void. I find flaws which I can't ignore in everything. But if we use my imdb ratings - which only round off to whole numbers - therefore anything I consider above 9.5 gets rated 10. Here is that list:



Godfather
Godfather 2
Pulp Fiction



I guess if I had to name a best movie of all time, I would go with Godfather 2. If I had to name my favorite - which is a slightly different question in my mind - I would say Pulp Fiction.

But my answer might switch tomorrow.



That's movies. I also rate TV shows on imdb and I have one 10: The Wire.

Muddy when you sit through a solid 9 for the first time, and the credits begin to roll, knowing how huge a movie buff you are, do you just sit there on your couch and bask for a few moments? Just look up at the ceiling with a big smile and say "wow, that was nice. I liked that." ??
