I like it when Dundgee gets fiesty.

What I have learned from this thread.

1) Mrs. Monkey doesn't put out as much as Mr. Monkey would like.

2) Pavy loves to throw out mythology references.

3) People in Wyoming post with a British accent.

4) Muddy is a hermit.

All the above is true, and if Nina doesn't get enough hoochie coochie.... I'm willing :)

It is, not surprisingly, very quiet.

I looked in there the other day and there was like three people asking about points...and that was it. That's a high position you got there Dunder.

LOL - I noticed that today too. I peeked in the Newbie forum and the first thread under the stickies was someone expressing angst about points.

If you were a new gambler wanting to find out about ratings of offshore books wouldn't your first questions be about points? What's wrong with you Mudcat?

They really should just drop the name Sportsbook review. That is miles from what they are about at this point.

I tried to help them out by coming up with the name S-faggot-R. They just need to embrace it.

It is a not a position at all, as mentioned I am just helping out with a few things.

Its an interesting issue. The fact that SBR is sponsored by some of the books which they review is always going to draw the integrity of those ratings into question. That is the case with our without the points program or whatever else they do to attract members. As far as I can see the original concept (A sportsbook review site) is still there and if anything is bigger in absolute terms than in the past. It is just that it is a relatively small part of the overall package nowadays.

"Bigger in absolute terms"??

SBR just got exposed for trading ratings for revenue as we saw with Carib. Carib decreased their affiliate percentage from S-faggot-R and instantly the banner got pulled from the forum and they got a downgrade with not a syllable of explanation. The next day, Dozer is in S&I taking pot shots at their methods. The only things that's bigger is their penchant for lying when it lines their pockets.

What happened with Carib?

Carib pays me faster than Pinny.

I can't agree.

Obviously, before the forum, the sportsbook reviews were the main part of the business. The start of the forum was the start of the decline of that. There was some effort to sustain it at the start. The main reason I was hired was to discuss/review sportsbooks. Regular efforts were made to tour sportsbook facilities and post pics. Sportsbooks were a hot topic every day and SBR people were involved in every discussion.

But it has been a downhill slide. Obviously, when I quit, they couldn't replace what I was doing. Joking aside, they could have if they wanted to but they didn't care enough and the forum sportsbook coverage slid mainly to BigBoyDan, a guy who thinks jjgold is a good reference for gambling info. :pipe:

The sportsbook tours and reports declined. The rating guide became an increasing mess of false/irrelevant info and broken links due to lack of maintenance. Standards for ratings also slid and huge behavioral issues on the part of sportsbooks started going ignored. Complaint handling also declined and people often had to beg just to get acknowledgement that their complaint had been received, never mind that something was going to be done.

I don't even blame them. Priorities shift - that's fine. But if they are trying to claim they are still about sportsbook reviews, it is disingenuous.

If that is the case, then I am happy to acknowledge your superior background knowledge. As mentioned I only signed up there about 5 months ago but did use the ratings/reviews periodically for two or three years before that. My impression, and it is only that, is that it is as good now as it was then.

It is obvious they are a business to make money and the sportsbook review is insignificant. I equate them to a healthcare insurance company in the US. Their goal is not to make sure people get cured from cancer or heart decease. Their goal is to collect more premiums than what they pay for claims and if the numbers don't add up some people will have their claims declined regardless if they die or not.

Can't say it as well as Pavy, but I just don't trust what they say as gospel!

Michael Moore couldn't have said it better!

I remember years ago we used to wonder how sbr made any money. They had no adds and provided a valuable service. You would just hear about sbr's Bill Dozer visiting this and that. It seemed that sbr was all about integrity. So it's still hard for me to understand what the hell happened.

Dunder, I'm all for helping fellow gamblers here and there. But why the fuck would you waste your time explaining to people how to earn, redeem and gamble points?:dunno:

Not Dunder...my bad for destroying the dundgee specualtion. :moped:

MrX
No idea where he's from, but Diogee is by far the happiest looking SBR poster at both bashes. I'm sure he's hiding something.
Nah nothing to hide at all MrX. Just how I am...have always been one to have a smile on my face and nothing better than having a good time. My nickname growing up was smiles.
