im like durito and pay for everything, so i might not have much useful info, but this is my take...

Blitty, its simple... Chick is smokin hot and you know you will want to be with her again = pay for everything... Chick is not hot and you might not ask her out again because of it = you say "hey, you wanna drink? i got this round (by telling her that, she sorda understands that this is a friend thing and she knows if she wants another drink, she is picking up that round of drinks..easy enough)
I think thats how things should work when you go on a friend meet up/sorda date anyways...i think thats what the internet service has in mind as well... and for now, letting the girl know that you are new in town and looking for a job and stuff should clue her in that you arent looking to drop a bunch of money on shit right now.

Thanks buddy. That is the most sensible and helpful post in this thread thus far. If the chick was smokin' hot and seemed ultra cool, I would have no problem paying for everything. Some might say that throws my principles out the door, but I don't think so..
 
Blitty, I am answering your thread cause I am bored and feel like writing something. My situation is far different than yours so my opinion as always is more or less mute.

I always pay. Whenever I have ever met either as a date or just casually I have never allowed a lady to pay for anything while she is with me with the exception of cigs, course if she smokes she is just a friend and never was or ever will be a potential date.

Now before anyone goes all. "well you're just trying to buy the pussy", you are wrong. I have always paid for females regardless of the potential to have sex with them. I don't owe it to them but I have always had this thing where a man treats a lady.

Obviously if I were in your situation both in where you are living and the number of dates you're capable of going on I would have not been able to be as free with my money as often. So if I were you but still had my mindset I would have a serious delima on my hands.
 
Your "principles" were a unicorn to start out with, fun to discuss but entirely mythical. You just look for any excuse to get what you want at the expense of anyone who might get in the way.

Be honest with us, if you were to be reincarnated as an animal today, reflecting the values you're acted on your whole life, what do you think it would be? A vulture? A hyena? A nematode?
 
There's no concept of right or wrong or moral values in having principles. Jesus and Satan alike have/had them. The unicorn argument doesn't stand.
