I've spent so much time bitching about the bad beats, bad breaks and just in general unluckiness of my experiences at Ocala Poker it's nice to be able to post back to back winning sessions here.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday they give away $300 to the high hand every 30 minutes from 1pm till 12am. So Friday I started telling the dealers I would give them $100 if the dealt me the high hand and it held up but it was a safe offer because I never got a high hand. The Karma though may have played a roll in netting a $700 profit for the day.
So today I went up on my offer to $150. The 3rd hand dealt to me I turned a straight flush as I had the top and bottom cards. Unfortunately the river card continued the straight flush but canceled my bottom portion and I didn't qualify for the high hand cause both cards in your hand must play. I won the pot naturally but it was smaller than the $300 high hand prize.
I bought in originally for $300 in the $2-$5 game and played for a couple of hours with little luck and no luck and at one point was all in for my last $65. That was my limit for the day cause I wasn't gonna give back all my profit from Friday. Anyway I doubled up on that hand and the very next hand I was dealt AA. The flop comes A-10-A. The quad aces won the pot and they also held up for the high hand. I kept my word and gave the dealer half of it.
I played until 10:00 and cashed out $1520 so it was a very good day and a great last 2 sessions of poker. As unlucky as I have been I was pretty fortunate to come back from $65 to $1520.
