Shaanxi and Shanxi. In China there's a Shaanxi province and a Shanxi province. In Chinese they are pronounced the same only differing in the tone used. Tone marks that don't exist in English. To make it easy for simpletons they added an extra "a" during Romanization. Each of them have a population greater than Canada's.
