Well I'm going to need a few days off from riding the bike due to my taint being extremely raw and sore.

Fellow cyclists is this normal? I need a wider more comfortable seat because this one makes it feel like I'm wearing a g-string made out of steel after I get off the bike.

It gets better with time, but it's possible the seat is the wrong shape for you. Go to your local bike shop and ask for advice.

I just switched my seat to a carbon one to save weight. I am at that level of cycling douchebaggery. I got padded cycling underwear to make up for the absence of padding, although the shape seems comfy enough for the sort of riding I do (all-out 30-to-60-mins jaunts)

The bike came with an older, aftermarket San Marco saddle which was quite comfy but heavy as fuck. San Marco seems to make good stuff, but you really want to ask your local bike nerd to get proper personalized advice. Bike shop guys take their shit seriously.

New seat and seatpost are almost a full pound lighter. The underwear weighs less than 100g. Yes, I weighed my underwear. I'm there and you can't hurt me with your words.
