I’m putting your horse on my watch list. Keep me abreast w a DM when the next race happens.

California Horse Racing Board unanimously voted to ban the whip/riding crop. At first I thought this was crazy but now I think its prob a good thing. Who cares. Maybe it forever changes the sport but if it improves the image and allows the sport to survive longer in an age of caring about animals (or more accurately, feigned outrage under the guise of caring for animals) I'm all for it.

In other news, horses keep dying at Santa Anita.

I’ve been following this closely and for the life of me cannot tell what’s going on. It’s only going on at Santa Anita. It has to be something about the track surface. Something just isn’t right

The colt I own some of won a 60k race and got claimed for 40k. I lost money on him I'm sure but happy to get 80% of my capital back so I can try again.

Still waiting for this mare of ours to get back to it, prob in June. She looks good.

80% return is good in this sport Boner. Good job pal!

Thanks brotha. The sport is hurting. Just seeing a glimpse of the ownership side the pipeline of product is grim.

Theres def a certain portion of owners who will always be in the game (read: rich trophy hunters) but the middle to low end owner is getting absolutley murdered. Purses in NY are robust but they need to find ways to chop the expenses in half.

In 15-20 years I think we'll have a triple crown, a couple boutique meets (SAR, KEE, and DMR) and that's about it.

God I hope it doesn’t go that way in 20 years. The sport has been around for so long, I’d hope they can find a revival.

I like the way that announcer used to say Santa Anita with the ah sound. Is he still around?

The filly I have a piece of, i hope they start her 1 turn on the turf first back. If that's the case, I'm sure she'll be 6-1 or better depending on the class level. If that's the case i'ma unload on her to hit the board. She looks beastly at the farm and shes an absolute machine.

BEL Thur Race 7 618 post. 1 turn on the turf aghainst open company (non state bred). 85k purse. I think shell be 3rd choice on the ML and hope she stays unbet. Prob wont be 6-1. She looks really good, filled out and shes even more angry than she was. Post one shouldnt be too bad in the chute and manny back aboard.

Shes 6-1 on the ML. Gonna get bet down in sure. Dont bet it on my accord. I'm obviously biased.

And on thread - CA is done. They're gonna pass a licensure regulation and choke it out. I bet Santa Anita is sold in the next 3 years.

I’ll be betting

They're keeping the race on the turf. The more towards soft/yielding it is the worse it is for ES.

I may bail on attending. Because of the timing and transportation options it will take me either 2-2.5hours or $75 (uber) to get home... fucking suburbs.
