Excuse me but if I am going to be reviled on a posting forum, I prefer to be called either Mudrat or Mudcunt.

It really is remarkable how much the west is better than the east in the CFL. Year-in-year-out. Decade-in-decade-out.

Here we are, 9 games into another season - I take a look - all 5 western teams have better records than the 4 in the east. Again. And I'm like, dude, it's an unbalanced schedule - there should be an equalizing effect on respective records. But still, there it is. Argos in first place in the east at 4-5. Everyone in the west is .500 or better.

:dunno:

Maybe the lopsidedness is becoming exaggerated in my mind - and I know there have been some good eastern teams in my lifetime - like the Flutie Argos - but I would be interested to know some stats. Feels like a 50 year trend to me.

maybe people in the east don't give a fuck about it? i dunno, would fall in the whole 'want it more' thought though

In terms of popularity, the CFL is way bigger in the west, no question. I don't think payrolls are that much different though.

Morphing into a Toronto Maple Leafs fan is not as totally easy as I anticipated - there is a lot of long-term disdain to overcome - but I am going to stick with it.

Having a strong opinion on something helps and I think I am going with the Patrick Marleau signing. I think that was a bad deal. Don't get me wrong - I like the guy - he has put in some good service with Team Canadas - coupla Gold Medals - but signing a 38 year-old to 3 years and that kind of cap hit? - in these key years where they could really make hay on the free agent market with all these young guys not making much money yet?

No. Hoping to be proven wrong for everyone's sake but I question the wisdom of it.

Also, Jimmy Garoppolo. What exactly has he done that makes people think he is important?

I seriously heard someone talking yesterday how Tom Brady may soon be pushed out in New England to make room for Jimmy Garoppolo.

I mean, I realize Tom Brady is not going to play forever and Father Time will catch up to him and yada yada but - Jimmy Garoppolo?

there it is again. I heard the word "dais" for the 1st time yesterday, and heard it again today in an unrelated setting

It's a C-O-N spiracy

The Invictus Games are taking place in Toronto. Opening is tomorrow.

I didn't know what they were until I heard some gab on the radio yesterday. It's about generating understanding, respect and support for injured servicepeople, whether their injuries are visible or not (i.e. PTSD). This fostering is to come about through games and races and whatnot.

I don't want to knock the cause but it goes in the same category as Paralympics for me. Have fun but Ima pass.

But wait -- who is that over Judge's right shoulder? Ready to turn Lindor's dinger into a souvenir if Judge couldn't make the play? Why yes, that is Zack Hample, Major League ballhawk extraordinaire

Isn't that the toolbox that that other toolbox was hanging off his nutz?

Pointed him out to many wife watching the game. He's decked out in mlb.com gear, hat and all. Wonder how much hes getting from them. Checked his eBay profile and he's not getting rich selling balls (except I suppose the rare milestone ball - A-Rod 600hr I think he snagged).

The NBA season kicks off tonight. Many interesting developments in the off-season with player movement. Some teams have changed radically.

I predict Golden State will win.
