It does not. It is primarily set in Brampton, the dull Toronto suburb where I grew up, just north of where I am now.

There is one phone call with a guy from Finland named Uusi.


I got the name from curling. There were brothers on the Finnish team years ago named Marku and Uusi Uusipaavelniemi.

Let's say that again: Uusi Uusipaavelniemi

Apparently he does support people after they've been on the show. Refers them to actual licensed professionals and pays for it. As for why people agree to reveal their darkest shit on national TV, there is a general consensus that the cost of US healthcare makes poor people look for "alternative treatment methods". Also, travel to the Hollywood studio is paid for. People like free shit. :handshake:

But yeah, his show is otherwise little more than misery porn.

I googled that after seeing a Youtube clip of Nicholas Brendon (of Buffy fame) walking off the show after being harshly confronted by "Dr." Phil. Most uncomfortable watch ever.

Domestic abuse. He was a trucker living in tenn at the time. He was always accusing his ex of screwing around. He father was the same way.
