What are you listening to?

In memory of the closest thing to a 10 (for me) there was in the 80's.

RIP Tawny.

The song not bad either, used to crank it up back in the day.

Thinking about being really hip and getting a record player.

should I just find a decent used one? What kind?

Also need speakers I guess?

Fill me in.

Well first off, its a turntable and not a record player.
I remember JVC, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony and Marantz made good stuff in the 80's. Not sure about today.

@Blitty

as a starter set up - turntable lab is the way to go.

my 45 rpm is dead on my turntable. no one can repair anything anymore. there is 1 guy in salt lake that can repair turntables and he has a 2 year wait, lol.

thinking about this one:

let me know what you do

That is slick looking!

And comes with the ortoform needle, which I think I’ve heard of.

goog lookin brother @kato

@kato

What in all do I need?

Still confused after researching.

should I add in that pre amp thing?

Receiver?

what speakers do you recommend for 12X12 room?

Appreciate you simplifying it for me, brother.

@Blitty

you need an amplifier for the turntable

either you get the from an old receiver with a phono port or you buy a preamp or you get a turntable that has a pre amp loaded in

any type of bookshelf speakers will work

most of the turnables at ttl have built in preamps

i currently run turntable + preamp + studio monitor speakers
