Thank you duriot! Considering his dad was here - and brought along his massive Italian family without my expecting them - it was actually ok. I obviously don't have family here so it was nice to see him so loved by so many people. Big step for us as parents considering we're still in court.

But... it was soul destroying to have so many kids screeching and zipping through my house. I hired 2 ppl to handle serving the food, drinks and take the rubbish with them so at least I didn't have to worry about that. The kids though? Fok that. I don't know how preschool teachers do that job. Couldn't pay me enough.

I think 3hrs is the perfect/max amount of time at that age. Long enough to get the parents boozy so they had a good time and short enough that the kids were gone before the sugar rush kicked in. Only shitty part is looking at all of the gifts he got - especially from his dad and I. A disgusting amount of money was spent and it's just ridiculous. I need to rein that in before Xmas rolls around.

I have not met any other parents at pre-school yet. I am not looking forward to it either.

Yea i cannot see how the preschool teachers handle 17 of em. Some of emilys classmates are there from 7 ti 6 m-f. I wouldnt last 5 minutes.

The other parents are a bit of a crapshoot. I call them the Mummy Mafia. 90% of them are super competitive about everything from when their kid is toilet trained to how many activities little Jimmy does each week to prepare him for the tough world of kindergarten :lmao:

Luckily I've had the more laid back ones gravitate to me. Could be because I don't rock up with a full face of makeup and wearing $800 of designer clothes at 9am. I had two here that I'd prefer not to know where I live, let alone be inside my house. But his preschool has a policy of having to invite every child in their class, even if your kid only goes one or two days a week like mine. And of course they turned up. They both slammed back a lot of Champagne though so it was bearable. Made me dread when my kid is old enough to decide which friends he really wants at his party though... if I can't stand the parents - or worse think the kid is a ratbag - we're kind of screwed no?
 
These social situations are not for me. Should have stayed in colombia. I had to everything there too but atleast mrs d spoke spanish. I met 5 new neighbors today, sont remember one name nor which made up profession i claimed to have.

Oksy...the one major set nack to having your kids..other kids...and their parents...I feel your pain.

:lmao: And if you told them what you do, they probably think your criminal degenerate! Daddy's coming over for ham dinner today and if I told him I make bets (small by the way too) he would think I need to go see a doctor!

Rito, hope Emily is learning both languages equally well! Come in handy when she gets older!

Probably taking it real easy Saturday. Thinking about doing 2-for-1 movies. Haven't been out to movies since TinTin.

Thinking the Batman movie and Paranorman. Anything else out worth seeing? Don't know what any of these movies are.
