What a disaster

Out of nowhere I hear this piercing, steady noise coming from the area of my smoke alarm. I head over to the hallway.......

I look up and see that a red light is visible on the smoke alarm.

So I start trying to find where the batteries are located as I'm suffering permanent hearing loss.


At least 8 minutes goes by as I'm trying to dislodge the smoke alarm from the ceiling. This motherfucker won't budge.


I have to work in the morning so there's no time to be indecisive about what to do. I grab the smoke alarm and pull it out of the ceiling. Small plastic pieces fall over the place.

THE NOISE DOESN'T STOP

About 4 feet away from where the smoke alarm was is the closet which houses the air conditioner.


IT' WAS THE FOKKEN ALARM THAT SOUNDS WHEN WATER IS DETECTED ON THE FLOOR (it's a gadget you put on the floor because AC units in FLA leak from time to time because ITS SO FUCKING HOT AND HUMID here that you have to really push your AC.)



So I ripped this goddam smoke alarm out of the ceiling for nothing. The hallway is a disaster area from all the shit that got ripped down from the ceiling.

Shitty. You'd think they'd make alarms for those things that are distinguishable from smoke alarms. Walk into the other room to check out the air conditioner only to open the door and get a face full of fire...
