The Jeopardy contestant search exam

Don't know what you're getting at Matty, I have no intention of violating federal laws.

There are so many things I could say that wouldn't be lying. I just want to pick the best one. I'm not sure about saying I am a gambler. Might seem too weird. To say arbitrageur would invite too many awkward-to-answer follow-up questions.

I could try to frame some angle of the volunteer work I do.

My last regular job was as a Warehouse Coordinator and I have been applying for some warehouse jobs so it is true to say I am an unemployed Warehouseman.

I have also done every kind of office job in the past.

I am an unemployed everything.

Back on topic, considering you just applied for that Warehouseman job and interviewed and held the job in the past, that's what I think you should say. #2 would be like an addictions specialist. Or you could mention sports betting since it is legal in Canada.

You shouldn't have a problem coming up with stories

Oh wow Muddy good job

Professional sports gambler one time time muddy for our kind, additionally drugs addiction recovery specialist part time, cool edgy and responsible

That's super news Mudro. Maybe sing "I'm in the Universe" one time and dedicate to your dear friend Bread!!

Good luck!

If Muddy makes the show we need to have a Gamelive bash when his show airs on TV to celebrate

What did you say last time when you didn't get on the show? Do the opposite.

From what it sounds like there are thousands of eligible contestants....sounds like they might just draw names out of a hat to be on the show.

There have been people on the show who didn't display all of the qualities that they claim they look for in contestants.

Basically true I think. I imagine there is some specific stuff they are looking for at the auditions but who knows how it gets evaluated. Getting the call is a longshot no matter what.

It would be exciting as hell though if it ever happened.

Muddy what is your routine when you watch the show? Do you practice buzzing in with a clicking pen? Do you yell the answers before Alex is done reading the clue, or just say it in your head?

What would you estimate is your success rate on Final Jeopardy?

I'd guess I get Final Jeopardy about 2/3rds of the time ??

While watching the show, I don't do anything as far as having a clicking device. I just say the answers with the goal being to say them before Alex has finished reading the clue.

I find that a big thing is I often have an educated guess about an answer. Under normal circumstances when I'm watching at home, I'll just blurt out my guess every time. But now that I am trying to get in serious mode, I am practicing making that snap decision. Am I going to take a chance on my guess or not? So I say my answer out loud if I feel I would take the chance, otherwise I say nothing.

Trying to simulate the real game experience a little bit.

Just got my confirmation e-mail. I am on my way to Boston May 4th for the audition which is 9 a.m. May 5th.

I guess I'll see about staying at the hotel where the audition is going to be. Seems like the simplest plan.

Where is Boston anyway? Mexico?

Just made my hotel reservation for the night of the 4th. It really brought out the cheapskate in me. The hotel where the audition is would cost ~$380 for the night.

I found a place 6 miles away that is more than $200 less so I am going with that for now (although I can change the reservation right up to the day of).
