I can't believe there are no basements in Florida or Vegas. WTF is up with that? Basements are know to produce some of Canada's finest hockey players. I'm actually grooming my 2 boys right now to become the next big thing(s). Look for my son to go in the 1st round in the 2024 NHL entry draft. My other son will follow in 2027.

You can't buy a house in the Northeast without a basement. Some furnished and finished some not but basements are important....at the very least they are used to put all your crap that you don't want to throw out because you might need them someday but you want out of sight

I too love basements. Had a great basement growing up, it was huge. it was furnished and was bigger than my current house's total square footage..., had a bedroom, rec room/living room, weight room, bathroom, laundry room, my dad's wood working/tool area, nerf basketball area, outer cellar. the best part was in the summer it was so much cooler down there. and warm and cozy with no drafts in the winter.

My basement in chicago is damp and scary.
