I know you are an amateur. That's why I asked how do you know what having an edge is? Point is if you are an amateur you shouldn't be giving Pro advice to another amateur.

Just keep doing whatever you're doing Wally. Maybe eventually you will discover, learn something great. Then you will be the line mover. Just don't expect accolades from steam chasers. They have their own paradigm.

$50 a play vs. the balance at merely 1 of duritos local outs (giving an idea of how much more he bets in order to make a living at it)... you dont follow math in sports betting very well, but even you can see my point.... i can promise you that if you lost your job tomorrow and decided to gamble for a living, your entire outlook would change and you will be right along side those guys who are doing their best to get the best numbers and beat closers...

If I lose my job tomorrow I will immediately look for another job. I like being an engineer and wouldn't trade it with chasing steam and watching line movement 24/7. And yes I don't give a damn about math in sports. I only know of one way of making gambling money and that is picking winners!

And that is why for the last 12 months I have been trying to tell the math guys they are preaching to the choir because I do this as a hobby and they do it for a living. When you do what I do as a hobby you don't need having an edge.
 
then when you do it for a hobby, it should be agreed that you have absolutely no business chiming in to any serious gambling discussion if all you are going to say is that you pick winners and line moves/prices are irrelevant :clueless:... i mean, what good are you doing wally or anyone else by even getting involved, especially if you dont look for edges and cant offer an idea of how to find them?... fuck it, nevermind...wasnt trying to argue.

Even as a hobby, I still want an edge. If a game opens -7 and it's now -8.5, I could never bet the fav knowing I lost a big edge. This happens a lot.
