Authorized Led Zeppelin documentary coming to IMAX next month

:cougar:
Just got finished with this.

Becoming Led Zeppelin (2025)

The raw footage is great here, especially the early live shows where people just didn't know what Zep were trying to do. Kids covering their ears, playing to people just sitting there, etc.

Always liked Led Zeppelin III best, which they didn't get to here. I would have loved to have seen every record detailed, my only complaint. Visuals were awesome. The story of how they came together was pretty interesting.

Bonham didn't do a lot of interviews but you get to hear a lot from him in this doc. IMO the greatest drummer ever.

Turning Point: The Vietnam War (2025)
Netflix - 5 episode series

To say this well done and comprehensive is a vast understatement. I consider myself a bit of a history buff, but the detail this series goes into is what makes it great. You get to hear from the vets, you get to hear from the northern Communists, you get to hear the Nixon tapes... it's all there. Fascinating that Nixon allowed himself to be recorded. I knew that, but when you hear these conversations it's absolutely wild. What they were able to keep from the American public, and for how long, is absolutely incredible.

The series peaks around mid-episode 2 and continues well into early episode 5. A little slow to start and to end, but WELL worth a watch. The Tet Offensive portion was particularly interesting as were the correspondence videos from Dan Rather, Cronkite, and others. The op-ed Cronkite wrote for the news after his visit was at the time unique. It's basically all of "journalism" now. You'll be hard pressed to find news that doesn't have opinions laced through it. But company men like Jesse Waters aren't stepping onto the battlefield. I wondered while I watched what side I would have taken on the war with the information that was available. I think it depends on my age at the time. I was a big Democrat when I was younger. I was even an Amnesty International volunteer. The Democratic party has changed a lot over the course of my lifetime. I thought about that a lot too while watching.

Stellar, if you're a history buff and like docs, go check it out.

Earnhardt

Amazon Prime Documentary
4 part series

Being a recent NASCAR fan I really enjoyed this in depth doc on the Earnhardt clan. But I think even if you don't "love" NASCAR as a sport you can love this documentary. It's just so well done. Everything from the music to the focus on the family tensions, and of course the history of his involvement in the sport. It's a damn tear jerker, so if you can't do those, avoid.

Probably one of the best sports docs I've ever seen and I've seen almost all the big ones.

If you have Amazon Prime

I highly suggest this documentary
