Planet of the Apes is not a remake. It's a continuation of the plot.

Though I'm unlikely to see it my newphew - quite the movie buff and a reliable reviewer - saw it this weekend and said it was pretty good. It also has an 82% rating right now on rotten tomatoes.

Inception did suck. Not sure what that has to do with Planet of the Apes though. It was the biggest box office flick of the weekend, fwiw. Probably not much but I doubt that's all drooling sci-fi geeks.

It's getting very positive reviews, but I will let you guys go back to panning it with absolutely no knowledge about it.

Carry on.

Roguey I was just responding to matts statement that the only people who watch sci fi flicks are drooling nerds.

For the record I have no interest in seeing this movie either. But its not a remake, which was the only reason I originally made the mistake of commenting in this thread.

Whatever, uppity ass honky.

Jello, my comment was about reviews of sci-fi movies. I like the occasional sci-fi flick, but it's the one genre where I feel like reviewers tend to be blindingly enthusiastic about what often turns out to be fairly stupid.

Most recent example of this would be Moon. It was a stupid-ass movie about the nature of memory and emotions, set in futuristic space for no real reason.

rayray link it up, I want to see the cute monkeys movie that jello likes too

speaking of remembering, moldy remember when Matty used to make 2 post a week, look at him now

I remember when you took Matty to some Cuban food festival or something.

Don't you wish that you knew then, what you know now? (That he had the biggest penis there).
