Machuca - Saw this Chilean movie via recommendation of vagabond. Its a very well done story about an English school in Santiago de Chile 1973 that is adjusting with the times and is accepting underprivileged children as with all the equality mantra of communism. While the country's Nationalist stance is losing steam and communism is gaining momentum the kids get exposed to this reality. From both perspective they observe and live the political tension and the coming dictatorship.
Some quotes I like "hagase escuchar Manchua (make yourself heard Machuca)". "yo no soy de aqui, soy del otro lado del rio (i'm not from here, im from the other side of the river), anti dictator Chilean rock group los miserable's song "al otro lado del sol" touches on that.
I heard a slang expression that I hadn't heard in years, that made me smile, "pituco" is how they called the rich kid. Plus points because it was with this actress that I like a lot, I have seen many great projects with her. There was a scene that reminded me of something oksana had mentioned, when the parents where all dolled up smoking lounge style in the living room with the 70s music. ata

It wasn't an extraordinary movie but very well made. 7.8 Matty Rains.
ps. vagabond is 2 for 2
