i see idiots on the forums blaming dr. drew and giving the guy a bunch of shit because he has lost some patients...the guy gets the very worst of the worst... everyone you see on his shows has attempted to kill themselves and are brutally addicted to something... this broad should have been in a funny farm... cuckoo as they come...only a portion of her suicide attempts were reported...once you try a few times, there is nothing dr. drew or any other shrink is going to do to help you ... he might be a douche in real life, i dunno, but giving him shit because another basket case killed herself, is just wrong :yes:
 
I have seen Dr. Drew a few times here and there and he seems to have decent knowledge about addictions.

Now IMO there is a HUGE flaw in trying to get clean/sober on a reality TV show. The public performance aspect is completely contradictory to the (supposed) goal. In a pristine world, there would be no such show. All professionals with integrity would refuse to participate.

However most people checking into the Dr. Drew show aren't particularly serious about getting clean and sober and doing that is better than nothing. Sometimes doing something for the wrong reason can still work out. It might at least plant a seed if they ever do get serious.

And if it wasn't Dr. Drew, it would just be someone else.
 
I'm not surprised. I would not expect the batting average to be .000

When I first dabbled my toe in sobriety, it was for the wrong reason. It was not a reality show but it was perverse enough.

But we can catch on despite ourselves.
