Not sure what a trained ear is, but if that means being enough of a dork to notice that my full-step bend towards the end is way sharp, like by 10 cents, then yes. I don't sing because my ears are better than my voice and my fancy brain won't allow me to go through with it if I'm not in tune.

(This all goes out the window when drunk, as in this latest video.)

Ok, I just wiki'ed "trained ear" and yes. This is a basic skill when learning the guitar or any other tangible instrument, trying to transcribe music you like to emulate.
