What's with you guys doubting my aquatic abilities. FFS.

yeah but can you really swim?

We did not purchase a dinghy yet. The one we tested is $15k. We're looking for a used one at about 1/5 of the price.

Although some proper sailboats are suspiciously cheap, probably because docking and maintenance costs are high.

Considering to do a lake course here

How do these prices compare to yours?

Well, to get a dock space would mean upgrading the club membership to full boating rights which is just under 5 grand a year. Maintenance, I have no idea but I know it's a significant amount.

A dinghy is just a dumb thing with very little that can go wrong. I wouldn't have a dock, but it's lightweight enough that it can be maneuvered with a dolly/hand cart and launched by just one person. A "dry sailing" membership is just 400 bucks more than our current "social" membership. Poverty Special.

Canoes lead to dinghies
Dinghies lead to boats
boats lead to bigger boats

nothing better than spending the day on the water
