OK you do look like you lost a ton of weight since the pic with Amby at the bash. Well shucks you go girl.

But with the hair and facial hair deal, you really are turning into Don Johnson. Not that that's a terrible thing I suppose. I was just always more of a Tubbs guy.

I shaved the goatee, but I'm growing it back now. I kind of liked it.

I know you like the brown browns.

Congratulations, MF'r. Losing all that weight and quitting smoking is very impressive. Your heart loves you.

But does a photo of a newly lean MF'r mean that his body fat is 8%? His body fat in that photo could easily be 12-13% (which is still a hugh improvement from where he was).

Let's play a game, Gamelive. For those that have seen Daft in person or on video, what would you estimate my body fat is? (Daft knows what his body fat is, it's part of the game! weeeeeeeee)

I just used the US Naval body fat calculator. I don't know for certain. That's why I said "around 8%." The calculator said 7.77%. I don't doubt that it could be higher.

Bourbon and Weight Loss

Alcohol (as in Bourbon) contains almost twice the calories of carbs or protein, so in theory, it's not good for weight control. In practice, however, some research shows that dieters who give up alcohol lose no more weight than those who don't. Moderate daily drinking (two glasses of wine, or two single measures of spirits for men; one for women) is considered safe and may be beneficial for blood pressure and heart disease. Red wine is considered more beneficial due to its content of the phytochemical, resveratrol. Nevertheless, excessive drinking is associated with increased risk of cancer, hypoglycemia (low levels of blood glucose, caused here by alcohol preventing the liver from releasing glucose into the bloodstream) and may accelerate weight gain, obesity and even the onset of diabetes. Bottom line: if you want to lose weight and stay healthy, keep your intake of alcohol to a sensible minimum.

At the peak of my physical fitness (age 28) I was for lack of a better term, shredded.

Using caliper samples from no less than 4 areas of my body my body fat was calculated at 10.2

My body fat now is hovering around 12%.

Congrats on losing a ton of weight. It's hard work. But I'm very skeptical that your body fat is in the single digits.

Don't make me totally gay this thread up and post a picture of me with no shirt on. I'll do it. I'm that shallow.

Haha. I believe you. I just went by the calculator. I have a six pack now, but I really have no concept of what constitutes 8% body fat versus 12% - to be honest.

I blame the Navy.
