Betplom, what is the Canadian Dream? Is it parity with the US dollar? Does it involve Tim Hortons?

The Canadian dream doesn't involve working in a coal mine, neither does the American dream.

The American dream is being born into wealth and living a life of luxury with no responsibility or worries.

Paris Hilton is living the American dream.

Those poor coal miners more than likely had debt and other worries, to say they were pursuing the American dream is pure bullshit, they were trying to get by.

The mine owners/shareholders are living the dream, not the dudes that had to work long hours in it.

betplom is right. Have any of you actually actually been to West Virginia? It lis like the land that time forgot. Even worse than Daytona Florida. Cops have a rough time catching criminals there because there are no dental records to identify anyone, and everyones DNA is too similiar.

The American dream is to sit around and do nothing while still being rich enough to have people do shit for you. So if you have enough cash to buy and sell people, you are living the american dream.

The way I see it, the Canadian dream is to have one of their hockey teams win the cup every year.

I have actually been to West Virginia and it is possibly one of my favorite places. It is the most beautiful place in the world. The rolling hills and mountains, the little villages int he valleys of the mountains couldn't be any better. Yes the place has its pitfalls but so does everywhere else.

One of my favorite cities in the world....Morgantown.

Nope, as a Torontonian I can't cheer for anyone other than the Leafs to win the cup.

I could tolerate Ottawa, Edmonton or Calgary winning a cup but not Montreal or Vancouver.

I could care less about Canadian based teams winning the cup, I like it when Tampa and Carolina win cups.

I was a Leafs fan when I had a Canadian girlfriend.

Was in Toronto the day Gretzky retired.

It was like the president died.

And yeah America is the king of propaganda. Turn on any news channel tonight and you can see some moron perpetuating some lie. It doesn't even matter what channel. I prefer to news online, read about it on my own time, then make my own judgments, which usually involve a plate of bacon and a hand job.

I have driven through West Virginia twice, and I will concede the beauty in the view, but when I stopped for food and fuel on both occasions, it was like stopping in the twilight zone as far as the people are concerned.
