I'd like to start putting my time to better use, by outsourcing some work. Anyone have an experience with this?

It will need to be a virtual assistant I believe, as hiring Colombians to do anything is completely counterproductive.

I once paid a dude in croatia to write me some gambling software but it didn't work properly and was a waste.

Now they have things like this:

Not really sure what tasks I could assign said person, my days consist of: posting on gambling message boards, looking for off market lines, pricing props, adding up my losses in spreadsheets, with an occasional call to costa rica to ask some idiots why they refuse to send me my money.

I'd like to not have to do my daily accounting anymore, but I'm not exactly interested in giving someone access to my accounts. Though people apparently do this with their credit cards, that at least has a recourse if your money is stolen.

I suppose I could outsource reading and posting on boards, and have the assistant send me only the interesting threads of the day. :clueless:
 
LOL. I have trust issues. If you want to streamline your day, learn how to program.

Durito, I would be no good with any of those assignments.

I know the feeling. There are about 14 projects that I've been trying to get done that I should have had complete two years ago. Some days I'm just not in the mood and others I'm just too busy. Hopefully, I'll have some time this summer.

You can take her out to dinner on Sunday, as she seems to think we are going to celebrate Valentines day. They do not celebrate valentines day in Colombia. They have their own version of Valentines in September which we already celebrated, as well as 49 other holiday's nobody know what are but which prevent me from working.

I used to waste an absurd amount of time doing nothing, but I really didn't care as I was spending about 20k a year. Now I really need to get more efficient.
 
I don't know what an "assitant" is, but I like the sound of it. Can I at least watch?
 
I have given serious thought to hiring an assistant to do some of the repetitive spreadsheet stuff I do but in the end, accuracy is so important and I just don't trust anyone's accuracy like my own.

I am extremely acurit.

But all joshing aside, I can relate to wishing for an assistant.

I did too, Durito. Weren't those the best of times? I lived on KFC and malt liquor, smoking pot from the time I woke up to the time I passed out, and sleeping with any guy that liked the sound of KFC and malt liquor. I was truly like the paragon of a misanthrope, and I treasured it.

At least you don't sit at a poker table 12 hours a day or have to drive around for a couple hours a day to get your wagers down. LOL. Once you become proficient in a programming language, much of your workload goes away. Prop pricing is still a bit tedious though.
 
Yes rather ironic that an asshole like me that makes fun of people's spelling and grammar cannot in fact spell. Can someone fix that. Are there even moderators here?

My accuracy is actually horrendous, I frequently misplace all sorts of monies. I think if I could email a small amount of info to someone every day, such as bet, bet type, book, risk, and odds I could have them make a database with all the other info I need like results and closing lines.

I could never play poker seriously, when I was trying to learn I just couldn't get into playing enough to learn anything.

I'd like to soon enough move past playing a ton of props, the limits are too small, and you get too much hassle from books. I'm sure I'll still play some always though.

I have hired Colombians and Peruvians in the pass. Some are good and some are bad.

Balkans and Romanians I pass.
 
I hear you guys about accuracy. I also don't trust anyone else's accuracy, or at least not anyone I have at my disposal. I could delegate for free some database stuff that I do myself, but it's so critical that I don't trust someone else to do it.

For game results and closing lines, I just cut and paste from covers, but it does take some time. I am ashamed to admit that I know nothing about programming and I'm sure I waste a ton of time manually doing stuff that a programmer could have done in 1/20th of the time, 1/100th of the time in the long run.

But on the other hand, I would probably waste that time in other ways anyway, on porn or MTV.com or videos of annoying freaks on youtube.

unfortunately for me, the limiting reagent in maximizing my time efficiency is not lack of programming skills or lack of help, but my psychological and emotional and behavioral disorders
