a couple days ago I had a very traumatic moving accident.... got one of my little (not the little) but littler toes stuck in a gap
in the wood of an outdoor deck while moving a heavy piece of furniture for my gf.
not sure exactly how or why it happened, but I managed to almost scalp off the entire little fleshy toe pad you have underneath your toenail area..... there was a lot of blood at first, and when I first examined the gash in the mirror, half of my toe was hanging like a little flap. I had too much to do that night ( corn on the cob, burgers, last comic standing, root in some bets)
so I wasn't about to waste 3 hrs going to the ER.... so with some butterflies, super glue, bandages, neosporin ect.... here I am 4 days later
I really did worry about losing this toe at times, and even late at night I had some gangrene-ish type half-awake-mares when it was throbbing.... but I think I'm gonna make it out alright...
but seriously the level of anxiety I had about losing just a part of a toe that has no function, and doesn't even have a name.... was worrisome.... i couldn't imagine being a great war, WWII, vietnam, gulf war, iraq vet that had to lose part of his body....
Take care of your limbs, extremities, and genitals folks...they are the only ones you get
