Got 3 balls at Wrigley

1 was thrown to me though so that doesn't really count (by Chris Sale during BP)
1 was a grand slam by the D'backs and the ball was thrown back into the stadium, ball boy went to get it, came back, gave it to a relief pitcher for Arizona who then handed it to me so that doesn't really count
1 was a ricochet off the stairs on a foul ball, I think that one counts

I recall from the days when I went to many baseball games that I was the opposite of most fans. If a foul ball was heading in my vicinity, I generally moved away from it. Most people move towards it.

I was never clear why I should want a baseball so badly.
 
If I saw a grown man moving away from a foul ball I would assume

A) That man didn't get out of the house much

B) That man was a homosexual

C) That man was a hockey fan


I would add, though, that any grown man who sprints for or dives for a foul ball is very likely a man-child.


The way to handle foul balls as a grown man is this:

If it's coming at you catch it and immediately give it to the closest baseball fan under 12 years of age.
