If the animal won't injure me, or my car, I will drive right over it. I may re-consider a bit for a dog, but I would never risk any human life over any animal.

I have driven over a rather sizeable list of animals in my days...the last one was seagull that landed in front of my car when I was doing about 70mph...

Pooooof.

One of the more notable experiences is wiping out a whole family of raccoons... looking in the rear view mirror and see them all rolling like bowling balls..

 this may be my favorite mr.Q post. rolling like bowling pins

then he starts in on turkeys :awesome:

New Scenerio
I am at BK today waiting for some 2 for 5 original chickens to be cooked fresh. A China man is on the phone hanging halfway out the front door which caused me an extra half second to get into the place...which infuriated me..because I was working and it was -15 degrees. Couple minutes later he approaches me. I quickly realize the situation.

His car is broken down somewhere..he is calling for a tow but cant speak english, and wants my help.

Now let me preface this. I am a helper. I offer to help old ladies load groceries. I will leave the line at the bank to open a door for an old person...even black ones. If someone looks confused at the hardware store...I will ask them if they need help.

Back to the story.

I am watching this guy struggle on the phone and we make eye contact. Then he walks over.

He shoves his phone in my face and says help. He wants me to talk to whoever is on the phone.

I speak loudly.

I dont want your phone.

As I grab his arm to push his phone away from me.

He raises his phone again and speaks some gibberish.
I do the same thing...then use my finger and give him the no-no sign in his face and point to his phone and give him no-no sign again.
While waving my fingers I say.

You shoulda learned English and now you are screwed.

If this China man could speak English I may have helped change his tire if he needed it. If he cant and he lives in America, he could die right in front of me and I just wouldn't care.

What do you guys think?

I would pick a little fender bender over killing an animal. If there was going to be all-out traffic havoc with uncertain results, I would just drive over an animal. If the scenario was at 90 kph, I wouldn't be doing much swerving, that's for sure.

I still have bad memories of a time I drove over a squirrel. It was raining and it basically ran right under my tire - came from the far side of highway 10 where I was driving south. My mother was in the car because I only had my "365" (learner's permit kind-of-thing). I must have been 16. It's not a recent thing - me being 16. I still have a pretty clear memory of the incident.

I still have a clear memory of a chipmunk being run over at a provincial park where my family was camping. I bet I was like 9.

I don't like to hit animals.

Cars --> I don't care.

People, I am just lukewarm on.
