I rarely follow the news. I’m alive. I wouldn’t be surprised if my new construction apartment building collapsed, though. I’ve met some of the people in charge and they don’t seem very competent.

What year was your building constructed? That one I'm thinking is much older?
 
The building that partially collapsed is Champlain Towers South Condo.
Here’s what we know about the building:

CHAMPLAIN TOWERS SOUTH WAS BUILT IN THE 1980S AND IS ON THE OCEANFRONT​

The Champlain Towers South Condo at 8777 Collins Ave is 40 years old. It was completed in 1981 with more than 100 units.

That's not that old. :surprised: Tron, your thinking could be right, no proper maintenance. Oh. my bad, yours is new. Well sell it within 40 years leave the money to the boys.

Look at concrete cracking top left pic. I think these were inspection pics few days before tragedy. Still plenty missing. Sad!
