"88, in chinese eights good luck, satoshi, he is from japan, he founded bitcoin" :lmao:

Almost sounded like he was trying to rap there.

This crypto thing is turning into a farce. I believe in the blockchain thing long term, but I think BTC and all the me-too coins are just an alpha/beta version of the eventual successor to national currencies.

Examples like this are why traditional stockmarket guys should stay away from crypto until they school themselves on the functions and meaning of Blockchain technology.

This isn't a easy technology to understand to begin with. Need less dinosaurs in this space...

they are just as silly with the stock market as well, only ones with true edge there are those in control of quant algorithms that bet within milliseconds and those in position to manipulate a sector or markets, everyone else lags behind trying to "handicap" that shit, those guys just produce filler content for us marks

speaking of handicapping xpy, are you playing the aussie open? I stayed up all night to watch my wozni only for her to break my heart losing by the hook

RJ, you one smart cookie bro...

Gave up handicapping for crypto. Returns are much better and it's for for a much better cause as well. However, I find it highly hypocritical that the local press here is riding the nuts off the bad boy of Aussie tennis when in years past he's been considered the super brat of tennis and have portrayed him very much as a national embarrassment.

That's journalism for you. Sociopathic tendancies and all..

Don't you think this is much more pronounced in a non regulated thin, new market like cryptos?

There are hedge fund guys moving these with the unseen hand while marks like Xpy think theyre in the driver's seat.

Oh yeah definitely, once the big boys money hits they take over it. The influence of the little player is long gone, we are chicken shit now. Not to even mention the geopolitical aspect of it if we want to go deeper about it.

I pray to God every few months that online gambling stays illegal in the US.

Best to do with crypto is to find a utility for it, if no use can be found then that's a sign one should stay away from it.

yeah, I didn't realize that bitcoin's use was so limited at the time I went searching for it in seedy barbershop atms.
1st disappointment was when I was told online sportsbook still wants you to send paperwork/id upon withdrawal :hey:

What do you think would happen if online gambling became legal? Harder to find value, or something else?

Which book asked you for this?

Yes, it would be centralized by a few billion dollar enterprises ala Bet365 and Ladbrokes and Betfred's of the UK, and the stock market assholes would dictate the industry.

Betonline. I was asking them questions about deposits/withdrawal with bitcoin, everything seemed workable. But when I asked about would they require paperwork to be sent when withdrawing with bitcoin, he said very likely yes. :dunno:
So I never ended up depositing. ...btw this is an account that has been empty for years. In the past I deposited with mg and withdrew by check. ..never had to send any documents

Of course current markets are manipulated. If ppl didn't learn from My Gox then that's their fault. But hey, this is a unregulated marketplace. Wild west and all that..

It's for that reason why I'm holding my current positions until decentralized exchanges (airway, Ether delta etc) are fully functional. Not because I believe they'll make me the most profit but because I believe in the function and value proposition that the coins have to the longterm viability of the community. It will all come out in the wash...

Maybe I'm showing a degree of ineptitude here but (thinking longer term here) how are you supposed to manipulate a market if you can't see how much trade is being done? Bots will no longer be able to make false buy/sell orders because the volume that's being traded will no longer be available (from my understanding) . All of a sudden things become trust less where prices are determined by what the community dictates prices to be and not the 1%ers...

At least that's the plan. Remember, throughout time banks are still a relatively newish concept having only been around for less than 400 years. Before that they werent needed and with decentralization it will mean that once again they will no longer be relevant for future generations... Just my .02c

In size...

Bitmain, the largest Bitcoin miner on the planet, is now buying a whopping 20,000 16nm wafers a month from TSMC! That's double as much as in the previous quarter and a higher volume than what NVIDIA orders from TSMC.

Dutch tech site Hardware.Info calculated that Bitmain can get a maximum of 5,670 chips out of every wafer. In total, that would be enough for 600,000 Bitmain Antminer S9 systems per month, but the actual number will probably be lower as we don't know the yields.

In total, TSMC pulled in $350 to $400 million of revenue from cryptocurrency chips in the third quarter alone.

Wow....

Roguey, aren't their a new 'next generation' batch of miners coming out in the next 2-3 months? My understanding is the equivalent S9 will be around double the T/H rate of what current models offer...

You'd make more money ordering one of these things and then on selling it than you would actual mining. Markups of 300-400+% are the norm on eBay...

I don't know about this xp.

Selling buckets and shovels is more profitable than digging for gold.

Especially as time goes on.

Really liking storm coin. Can see it taking gaming to the next level of community engagement. Looks a bit like steemit...

seems like bitcoin doesn't want to go bellow 10k.

I'm up on my gold coins currently ...~1% over 5 years

Personal theory is that BTC is waiting for new technology to be implemented into its aging platform before we ever see another big jump in value.

Lightning network. Has to be done correctly though. Can't give btc even a single degree of centralization...
