It's true they have adapted well, all the other affiliate forums are done for as far as being viable businesses. But running an illegal sportsbook with points isn't going to have any longevity either.

Does John make any money from the points book? And if yes, how?

Points=PRO=$200 a pop...?

But don't the US posters have to donate to charity to get Pro now? And isn't 75% of the posters from US?

As far as I know only from non-usa players, or those that signed up in the first year. It drives players to his site though and those players will eventually try and post up.

USA based post up is essentially dead though, so I don't know they plan on continuing.

yeah, just not going to get too many more new sign ups from americans...everyone has accts or is scared.... i wonder if they make much money off people buying points...:clueless:

Don't you think SBR acts as a broker? Players fund a book with the minimum $200 to become a SBR Pro and there is a cut or fee paid back to SBR. Probably a percentage for re-ups and so on. Even if it's minimal paid back to John you figure there's a couple hundred Pros at least.

Plus by running SBR on the point system and operating a points book they are essentially a training ground for young people coming up and catching the fever.

I was just banned for being the ghost of Archie. They dont miss anything.

do you want me to send you the community password for Cap Dat 4ss?

I don't think you become a pro by funding books for US players anymore Wally

Wal it can also have the opposite effect. Young people betting with points and can't win and never deposit cash at books.

very true

young amateur gamblers very often learn quickly how hard it is to beat the numbers, learn their lesson, and give up. Especially the well educated mature bunch that SBR attracts. Very humble bunch in general

Arch, I was referring to the way it has been. Now I guess the American posters who wish to remain Pro will do the Charity thing through SBR which will either pocket it or use it as a tax break.

Yes of course, it's an affiliate site. Any book signed up at through their links/used for a contest/used to turn pro.etc sbr gets a cut of player loses. This can be as high as 40%.

Health is good Archie, thank you for inquiring. I finall got over a bad case of rupture appendix and am now back to being just a regular pain managment patient with a fucked up heart. Found out two of my valves will eventually need to be replaced but hopefully not for a few decades. Doc recommended not lifting anything over 50 lbs for the rest of my life and I shook his hand and said deal. I asked him to sgin a form and I brought it to work, lol. Easy.

How are you doing?

Durito, anything new on your breathing? Come visit me.

Archie I got unbanned today. The reasoning was that I"m using proxies and I'd been flagged by their fraud detection software. So I sold my soul to the devil and got reinstated.
