Had to pay 60 EUR (10 EUR per adult per day) city tax just gor the privilege of staying 3 nights in a dingy undersized room with stained sheets. 820 Canadian dollorz plus the aforementioned city tax. Unbelievable. Not a great first impression.

Hasn't Airbnb become a huge scam where people expect you to clean for them, and then they still charge you a huge cleaning fee? Fuck that. Our room in Rome was quite good.

The Milan hotel room is pretty shit but the location is good. Other central options were super expensive, and we did look at short term rentals (VRBO and the like.)

We just had aperitivo along the canal in Milan, was really good and surprisingly affordable. Had a nice glass of Langhe. I'm quickly warming up to Milan, totally different vibe compared to Rome.

I’ve never had to clean after staying at a few dozen of them. The prices have been mare transparent in recent years.

Vrbo is tha same concept. They might be more strict with fees.
