Scientific studies aren't conservative last I checked...

But don't let this distract you from the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire".

Im not really sure i get the joke. But you agree that for certain groups of people the covid vaccine is a good thing, you'd recommend it even?

For my part id say that, after my research, I agree thay anyone between ages 0-60ish with no extenuating circumstances (and id even add financially valuable to a household or society) should probably forgo a covid vaccine (but not flu) for the time being. Im on record in this thread and among family/friends saying that the virus is an old people virus. The damage done by 5 days of moderate illness vs. increased risk of myocardisis is not worth it for 90% of the population under a certain age. After a certain age the analysis starts to change as risk of death from covid increases vs the (also increasing but relatively stable) risk of myocardisis.

Theres about a 10-15% chance that covid or flu or rsv will kill my wife in the next 10 years. Im willing to take my chances with heart troubles to cut that down a bit (I may even buy an rsv vaccine out of pocket if i can find it). Its not only because i enjoy her company but also because her health is so valuable to us financially.

I get that its not for everyone, but I cant imagine reading the scientific research on the vaccines, applying what i learned to my specific situation and coming out any other way. Im happy to take a look at any studies I may have missed, LMK if there's some particularly compelling ones out there.

I think I could support a mandatory exposure for all able bodied Americans. Between the ages of 0-49 with no comorbidities you're required to be exposed. After 2 weeks over half the population would be immune to infection and would not be able to transmit.

Look at this one, CB. Thats from spring 2020. We're more alike than you know.

Also, this is a great thread.

The recover initiative and NEJM seem to be focused on the long-COVID studies. I have read a few substacks, but the main point is that unless you have a real health condition the virus is mostly only deadly to those in the 70+ range. Babies with weakened immune systems can also be on the high end of the risk slide. If you're even in moderately decent health and in the 20-50 age range I don't see a lot of data that says you need the Covid vaccine, despite the lies we were told for years.
