What are you listening to?

If you're a big fan of Pink Floyd Animals like I am, this is a must listen.

Les Claypool and his Frog Brigade playing the entire thing live. Absolutely 10/10 performance.

Pic of of Set 1, but Set 2 was the Pink Floyd (link here):

Woob - Xvious.exe
8.5/10

Here's a traditional dance album incorporating not just the new synth sound but a very clubby early 90s sound as well. Minimal lyrics, mostly instrumental. Some fantastic bass lines. Track 2 probably is my favorite. Great cover art.

Client Liaison - Diplomatic Immunity
8.7/10

Lots of George Michael vibes with this Australian duo. Pretty good danceable pop music here. Fantastic vocal and good 80s style arrangements.

Probably my favorite tracks on this one are Wild Life and Off White Limousine

3 years today.
Always sneaks up on me.

My brother Eric gave me this gift card to Culture Shock - Clothing and Records in Rockford for Christmas (in 2021, the last one we'd spend together). Of course by the time I got around to thinking about using it I had moved to Arlington Heights.

Then I just didn't want to use it, because they usually take the card after you do.

Finally I decided it was time to use it so one day I was in Rockford and stopped in. I bought one record I needed but didn't have (the KIDS soundtrack). And one record from a movie he and I had talked about, Lost in Translation (also a movie Soundtrack).

I asked the guy working the register if he could write VOID on the gift card and let me keep the card. I had explained why I wanted to keep it, and he was cool enough to let me.

I waited 3 years, but I'm giving it a spin for Eric tonight. The title is fitting, in my opinion. So many things in life are lost in translation.
